The journal particularly encourages submissions that address: Epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Advances in diagnostics, therapeutics, and preventive medicine. Innovations in clinical practice, public health, and medical education. Health systems research and issues relevant to low- and middle-income countries. Through its diverse content, SOMCJ seeks to foster scientific inquiry, academic collaboration, and continual professional development among healthcare professionals and researchers.

Journal Renaming and Official Recognition

We are pleased to announce that our journal has been renamed as the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Journal (SOMCJ), formerly known as the Osmani Medical Teachers Association Journal.

This change reflects our broader institutional identity and commitment to advancing the academic and research mission of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. The new title better represents the journal’s expanded scope, multidisciplinary contributions, and its dedication to fostering high-quality medical research.

We are also proud to share that this renaming and continuation under the new title have been officially approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

The editorial board extends sincere gratitude to all contributors, reviewers, and readers for their continued support as we move forward under our new name, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Journal (SOMCJ), striving toward greater academic excellence and impact.
